May 31st 8th grade banquet and school-wide dance

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,

Many of the students are getting excited for the end of the year 8th grade banquet and the school wide dance to follow. I have heard many of the girls talking about purchasing dresses, and some of the boys have been talking about dressing up too.

I am glad the students are excited and want to look nice for the special event. Please remember, as you and your child make plans for the May 31st event, that the school dress code applies for all school functions, including banquets and dances.  All students must dress appropriately - no sleeveless shirts, inappropriate logos or images, or short shorts or skirts. We will not allow strapless dresses or dresses that are extremely tight or very short. Students may wear spaghetti straps on formal dresses, but spaghetti strap tank tops will not be allowed as per the dress code outlined in the student handbook.

Thank you for your support in this matter. We want the students to have fun and celebrate, but they must adhere to middle school dress code to be a part of middle school sponsored events.

Please email (medgar@kiheicharter.org) or call (264-4787) if you have any questions. Thanks again,
Megan Edgar

Exhibition Nights – all Kihei Charter students are required to participate in Exhibition Night. This is a chance for students to show off their hard work and to work on their presentation and public speaking skills in front of a new audience. Please mark your calendars for the following dates

  • December 12 – Exhibition for Ohia and Koa classes
